engineering

A key component of Netcoins’ product suite is our mobile app. We are looking for a React Native developer capable of maintaining and extending our iOS and Android apps. You will be responsible for architecting and building new features, as well as optimizing existing functionality. You will join a high performing dev team and will collaborate with Product and Customer Success on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
  • Build pixel-perfect, buttery-smooth UIs across both mobile platforms
  • Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and bottlenecks for performance that feels native
  • Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality

  • Minimum 3 years of experience building iOS and Android apps
  • Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
  • Rock-solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
  • Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, and Android Studio
  • Understanding of REST APIs, websockets, the document request model, and offline storage
Work can be fully remote. We are largely based in the Pacific time zone.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Member of the Netcoins‘ core management team, attend weekly management meeting to report on activities and issues encountered by the finance team, as well as work with other VP/Directors on matters arising from other departments that have financial impact;
  • Manage and direct activities of the finance team members, currently consists of a controller and a junior staff. Provide guidance and performance feedback;
  • Oversight of controls on daily accounting procedures (cash management, liquidity providers operations, vendor management etc.);
  • Manage cash flows. Communicate with management team and directors on cash position and monitor budgeted activities including monthly reporting;
  • Review periodic financial reporting prepared by the finance team, sign-off on key review working papers where necessary; Review account payable weekly to determine aging and payment run, be the key contact person for vendor related inquiries;
  • Review periodic payroll calculation and filing;
  • Manage banking and related vendor relationships;
  • Work with Operations team members to manage coins inventory and reconciliation periodically;
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams on new product development, and manage the integration of product, as well as develop new process and procedure to manage financial reporting on the new product;
  • Work with external audit teams to effectively complete year-end audit.
Qualifications
  • CPA qualification
  • Big-4 or mid-size firm audit experience is an asset
  • At least 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience with 3 or more at Director of Finance or Controller level with multiple direct reports
  • Experience with Quickbook and/or other accounting software
  • Self-starter with ability to learn and adapt to new industry and products
  • Strong interest in crypto and willing to spend additional personal time to read news, blogs, following social media etc. to keep to date on the industry's development

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Strategy and Operations team to help scale our business across Canada and the United States.
As Senior Associate, Strategy and Operations, you will think strategically about business growth while also being process oriented and capable of managing day to day operations effectively. You have experience in executing operational tasks, process development/improvement, building roadmaps, scoping new initiatives, and translating strategy into execution. This is a highly collaborative role, and you would have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across the company to drive business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead crypto operations across Canada and the U.S. to keep our business running effectively and efficiently. This includes executing core operational activities associated with our products and services such as Liquidity Provider settlements, transaction monitoring, vendor management and more
  • Define, implement and maintain operational processes, policies and procedures for our products and services. This includes consideration for business continuity, compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Drive medium to long term objectives by scoping new ideas, partnerships and expansion opportunities
  • Conduct research, market sizing and business case development to lay the groundwork for informed decision making at a management and executive level
  • Assist in roadmap development and ongoing planning/prioritization exercises
  • Translate strategy into execution by determining high level business requirements for new products and services, and bring initiatives to a ‘ready’ state for product and engineering teams
  • Work cross functionally across product, design, engineering, compliance and customer success to implement solutions that meet business and client needs
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in business management, corporate strategy, consulting, product management or other related fields
  • Sound business judgment and strategic thinking; able to visualize the big picture, identify opportunities and turn them into actionable plans
  • Operations and process oriented; proven experience rolling up your sleeves to execute tasks, build processes and operate with a high level of precision
  • Research oriented and data driven; curios to dig into data to uncover the ‘what’ and ‘why’ behind every story
  • Experience building financial models to aid with planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proven experience working in collaborative environments; strong relationship-building and communication skills to create, maintain and enhance relationships with different teams and internal/external partners
  • Self-starter; able to get things done and move projects forward
  • Comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity
  • Passionate about crypto and the digital assets space
